Responsible for project management of multiple projects, varying in size from small to large and complex. Accountable that assigned projects are completed on time, within budget and to mutually agreed upon customer specification and level of quality. Coordinates the development of the project to ensure optimization of the integrated systems integrity. Provides the coordination, communication, and project structure between users of Information Services, other support departments, other IT project managers and outside third party vendors. Team player who supports the fundamentals of project management with a customer service focus. Facilitates the project information. Responsible for project scope definition and signed agreement of all parties. Responsible for developing and monitoring a Work Breakdown Structure which addresses time frames, resources, and cost. Responsible for the communication of the project status to all stakeholders on a regular basis and monthly report to the Information Systems Steering Committee. Accountable for documenting of project risk assessments. Ensures that issues are adequately documented. Communicates major issues to management and staff. Facilitates issue resolution and ensures resolution is documented. Escalates when required. Serves as a customer liaison and principle IT contact for project-related activity. Monitors customer satisfaction to ensure that the project meets the users expectations. Ensures that project documentation is completed including requirements, designs, development, testing, implementation, project management documentation and plans, policies and procedures, new standards, contracts, issues lists and project status. Maintains project files, both electronically and paper bound. Consults and provides recommendations to users, staff, and management on system design issues for both existing and proposed information systems. Understands, demonstrates, and documents the nine elements of project management: scope, time, costs, quality, communication, resources, contracts, risk, and integration. Ensures that Compliance and Quality Assurance objects as defined in Sarbanes Oxley guidelines and Pinnacle Airlines Policies and Procedures are met. Works closely with other IT project managers to ensure a cohesive. comprehensive, and complete project management structure within IT for all projects. Keeps the Director, IT informed of all budget information on a timely basis. Will be required to carry a company provided cell phone and be available outside normal business hours. Performs additional functions (essential or otherwise) which may be assigned from time to time. Proven project management record with Flight Operations systems. Typical Physical Demands: Requires verbal and written communications skills, particularly to speak clearly and concisely to technical staff, outside contacts, and Pinnacle Airlines employees at all levels; the ability to use office equipment, such as a personal computer, telephone; the ability to lift and handle, objects weighing up to 50 lbs., such as computer equipment for the purpose of installation or repair. Typical Working Conditions: Work is performed in an office environment and may require sitting at a workstation for long periods of time. Education: Bachelor’s of Science degree in Computer Science, Information Services or a related specialty or equivalent experience/training in Project Management. Experience: Eight (8) years of systems analysis and/or project management experience. Three years experience should be in large, complex projects. Expert knowledge of project management tools. Must have good interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Licensure/Certification: Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) by the Project Management Institute (PMI) preferred. Concurrent internal and external recruitment.
